BMA Biomedicals is a small biotech company located in the Basel area in northern Switzerland. Founded in 1989 by a group of immunologists, biochemists and biologists, its main area of activity is in the generation, manufacturing and marketing of antibodies. In 2005, BMA Biomedicals has been acquired by Chemoforma Inc., a long-time business partner active in the production of immune-supportive food additives.
BMA's knowledge and expertise lies mainly in the application of antibodies in immunohistochemistry and enzyme immunoassays. Even though the products are manufactured and sold for in vitro research use only, the licensing of successful products to companies which are active in medical diagnostics is supported.
BMA Biomedicals has its own modern research and development facilities. It is ideally equipped for carrying out contractual research for scientific and industrial institutions. Our know-how lies in the production and derivatization of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, and their use in immunological techniques. BMA also acquires products which are in line with internal activities. These products may be in early development stages and are finally updated for manufacture by the company.
The product range of BMA Biomedicals is customer oriented and includes many products that focus on a limited and specialized group of customers. We have established longstanding and excellent working relationships with our distributors and their customers worldwide.
